Recently, one of the giant commercial banks in Nigeria, Access Bank launched their platform for checking account balance via SMS. This SMS balance checking code works for everyone holding an account with Access bank and can be done on any type of phone whether it is internet-enabled or not.
This new feature for checking access bank account balance through sms will make it possible to know your balance without any internet banking platform or visiting the banking hall. This is a really cool function considering the bottlenecks and delays that are often experience with physical banking activities in Nigeria.
How To Check Access Bank Account Balance Via SMS
Here are the steps to check your access bank account balance through SMS, just follow the procedures stated below.
Using the same line attached to your Access Bank account, compose a SMS in this layout:
Bal (space) NUBAN number. Your NUBAN number is the new 10 digits account number that were rolled out a few years back. Here is a sample text message: Bal 0010724623. The next step is to send this text message to this number: 08160000612 and wait for the network response. E.g send Bal 0010724623 to 08160000612.
Here are a few things to note:
Your line's telecom network would charge you a fixed rate of N4 for that SMS. This is fixed across all network providers MTN, Glo, Etisalat and Airtel. This balance checking code works only on the phone number that is registered with the ACCESS bank account. Per adverture you try to use this SMS code on any other line not connected with the account, you will not be able to get your bal.
